MRIWA project M477: Jacob, R.;  Majewski, P. and Bruno, F. 201.87 “Investigation of Ore Settling in Molten Chloride Salts”

The objective of the current study was to determine a suitable method of separating reacted potassium feldspar ore from a chloride salt mixture while at temperatures above 650°C. Several concepts were tested to determine if the ore would settle naturally in the salt mixture. This included gravitational settling, high temperature filters, high temperature flocculants, layer testing, excess salt and settling under a vacuum.

KEYWORDS: Molten salts; Potassium Feldspar; Potassium Chloride; Ore settling
