MRIWA is delighted to welcome Mr David Rose to the MRIWA Board. David is a Director with KPMG and has 35 years of diverse experience in the mining industry. He has worked in the base metals, coal, diamonds and iron ore industries in both open pit and underground operations. David has held a number of senior executive roles including COO of St Barbara, MD at Rio Tinto (Argyle and Rio Tinto Iron Ore) and GM Operations Pasminco (Rosebery and Century). David's term with the Board commenced on 1 June 2018, filling the vacancy consequent to the retirement of MRIWA's previous Chair, Dr Peter Lilly.
Preparing Stage 1 of the Bid for what has been known as the New Energy Industry CRC is in full swing. A priority is securing the necessary cash co-investments – we are making good progress to achieve our target of $25 million. The Steering Committee, after consultation with the stakeholders in the Bid, has decided that the CRC should be re-named to more accurately describe the research scope for the CRC. The chosen name is Future Battery Industries CRC. Read the new prospectus here.
