Ground support optimisation: MRIWA-supported research improving safety and efficiency in underground mining
Led by Professor Yves Potvin at the Australian Centre for Geomechanics at UWA, this project delivers significant advances in ground support design for underground mining.
Applied using widely-available software tools, the new methodology delivered here will help to improve safety and reduce costs in underground mining, and enhances Western Australia’s reputation as a leader in developing geomechanics technology for the mining industry.
The technical report summarising the findings of this research can be found here.
