One step closer to WA’s lithium valley
Congratulations to the bid team in making it through to the next round!
The next stage of assessment invites the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBICRC) to submit a full written business case by November 26, 2018.
The Western Australian-led, national consortium of industry, universities and State Governments is looking to establish the $100 million FBICRC to contribute to Australia harnessing the power of its natural resources to become a leader in the production and processing of battery minerals, and a global leader in the manufacturing, use and reuse of battery systems for the energy solutions of the future.
The Western Australian State Government has committed $6 million in provisional funding to support establishing the proposed FBICRC, with headquarters in WA.
As part of the CRC application process to the Federal Government, proposals are considered in two stages based on merit and measured against all other CRC applications.
An announcement on the successful recipients of the CRC application process is expected in early 2019.
