ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC) in Transforming Maintenance through Data Science
The CTMTDS operated from 2019 to 2025 as a collaborative initiative between Curtin University, the University of Western Australia, and key industry and research partners – including MRIWA.
The Centre applied advanced data science to transform maintenance practices in the resources sector, developing models and tools to improve asset reliability, optimise decision‑making, and reduce manual processes.
CTMTDS also played a significant workforce development role, producing 12 industry-ready data science PhD graduates, and supporting a cohort of early‑career researchers with strong industry‑focused data science capabilities.
Through close university–industry collaboration, the Centre delivered practical solutions that have improved productivity, safety, and the adoption of advanced analytics across Western Australia’s mining industry.
