EnPhytoBox® – modular, carbon-neutral water treatment for remote mine sites

Developed by Syrinx Environmental with support from MRIWA under project M10447, this modular mobile unit acts like a containerised wetland, removing pollutants from contaminated water at source to produce reusable water and biomass, with zero waste and emissions. 

MRIWA’s support allowed the Syrinx team to integrate Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology into the EnPhytoBox® system, providing a critical capacity for real-time monitoring, reporting and control of system operation – even in remote locations. 

This breakthrough nature-based water treatment system is ready for deployment to sites across WA and around the world – enhancing WA’s reputation as a leader in sustainable mining innovation and practice.
