FUTURE BATTERIES INDUSTRIES SHOWCASE: EXPLORING THE FUTURE OF BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

The world of battery technology is charging toward a sustainable future, and the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBICRC) is at the forefront of this electrifying revolution. On Thursday, May 6, 2025, the FBICRC will host a day-long event at Beaumonde On The Point in East Perth, showcasing ground-breaking advancements across the entire battery value chain—from mining and extraction to recycling and reuse. Whether you’re a professional in the battery materials and processing industry or simply curious about the future of energy storage, this event promises to spark your interest.

The FBICRC, Australia’s largest research and development collaboration focused on batteries and energy storage, is pulling back the curtain on its impressive research portfolio. Attendees will dive into exciting new technologies and developments that span the battery lifecycle. From innovative extraction methods to cutting-edge recycling techniques, the event will highlight how the FBICRC is shaping a sustainable and efficient battery ecosystem.

The event will feature updates on key government and industry initiatives, including the $200M Critical Minerals Advanced Processing Facility (CMAP) planned for Western Australia. This project underscores the region’s growing role as a hub for critical minerals and advanced battery processing.

One of the event’s highlights will be a presentation from WA Chief Scientist Peter Klinken, joined by other prominent figures from research, government, and industry. Their insights will illuminate the broader implications of battery technology advancements and Australia’s place in the global energy landscape.

The FBICRC is proud to showcase the work of its 47 Higher Degree by Research students, whose fresh perspectives and innovative projects are powering the next wave of breakthroughs. This blend of seasoned expertise and emerging talent makes the event a unique opportunity to see both the present and future of battery research.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of key partners, including: MRIWA, RSM Australia, Wrays IP Lawyers, and Kuuwa Rentals. This backing reflects the collaborative spirit driving Australia’s battery industry forward.
