The findings of this research, jointly published as MRIWA report 470a and GSWA report 267, show the geological framework of the Fraser Zone formed in a backarc setting around 1390 Ma, with significant Ni–Cu–Co mineralisation influenced by variable crustal thickness and metamorphism. Primary mineralisation was controlled by crustal assimilation and sulfur mixing, while weathering processes and regolith development creating distinctive surface geochemical halos that can represent key guides to the identification of buried mineralisation.
