Research Priority Plan
Review of the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) Research Priority Plan – 2025 Public Consultation Update
MRIWA is currently reviewing its Research Priority Plan (RPP)—a strategic document that guides MRIWA’s research funding to benefit Western Australia.
This review is being conducted in accordance with the Terms of Reference outlined in Division 4 of the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia Act 2014, and is supported by ACIL Allen.
As part of the review process, MRIWA and ACIL Allen released a Discussion Paper for public comment, accompanied by a Web Form to gather input on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
Feedback from this initial consultation will inform the development of a Draft Research Priority Plan, which will be made available for further written public comment before final endorsement by the Minister for Mines and Petroleum, the Hon. David Michael MLA, later in 2025.
The initial public consultation period closed on 17 September 2025. All submissions received during this phase will be carefully considered.
MRIWA and the Minister thank you those stakeholders who have made a submission for your valuable feedback.
