Biography

Nicole Roocke has led MRIWA as the Chief Executive Officer since November 2018, steering the organisation’s strategic direction through a period of significant change. She brings a strong track record of anticipating shifts in policy, technology, and industry need, and translating them into research priorities that position Western Australia ahead of the curve, from critical minerals processing to clean energy transition capability.

Nicole joined MRIWA after 15 years in an industry association, where she coordinated industry input on regulatory and policy issues and built collaboration across the resources sector. That experience shaped her ability to read the strategic landscape early and align diverse stakeholders across government, industry, and research around a shared forward direction.

She holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of Western Australia (UWA) and a Master of Risk Management from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
