Green hydrogen projects lead agency status could benefit MRIWA’s challenges
Lead Agency Services help projects through State Government approvals processes.
Through the Lead Agency Framework, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation will provide the projects with a single point of entry to the State Government and assistance with the application process.
MRIWA’s projects are positioned to benefit from WA Government’s proposed investment in Hydrogen Hubs.
The WA Government has committed $160 million to support the development of the renewable hydrogen industry in WA.
Hydrogen will play a key role in providing the energy solutions at scale to enable further processing of the iron ore resources to help meet the outcomes of MRIWA’s Green Steel challenge.
Through its research programs, MRIWA supports initiatives aimed at overcoming technology challenges that prevent the use of hydrogen and renewables in the iron ore to the steel value chain.
