Industry participants in this half-day workshop, to be held in the Perth CBD on Thursday 14 October 2021, will work with MRIWA’s PhD scholars as they are led through a case-study-based exploration of environmental and social governance (ESG), engaging with concepts including:

  • The historical and social context of ESG in the resources sector
  • Moral and ethical dilemmas in ESG
  • Reconciling jurisdictional and other requirements with global ESG expectations

MRIWA is seeking expressions of interest from thought-leaders and experienced ESG practitioners to participate in the workshop and help develop capability in our student cohort.

The annual student-industry workshop is a centrepiece of the MRIWA Education Program, building bridges between mining innovators and decision makers in research and industry.

These events provide opportunities for applying high-level research and analysis skills to mining challenges, and encourage participants to explore systems-level thinking and problem solving in a mining environment.

Places are strictly limited and by invitation only.

To register interest in attending, or to find out how you could be involved in future Education Program events, contact the MRIWA team at RPM@mriwa.wa.gov.au
