Rising to the challenge of describing their work in plain language and an open format, eleven MRIWA PhD scholars delivered new insights and potential innovation to a diverse audience of mining industry and research community attendees.

Presentations reflected the breadth of research underway at Western Australia’s universities addressing the challenges and supporting the future success of our State’s mineral industries, including:

  • developing new exploration technologies to help find the next generation of mineral resources;
  • engineering techniques to safely extract and process mineral products;
  • the use of modern computational tools and artificial intelligence to support operators in making mining safer and more efficient; and
  • the economic insights and community understanding to help all Western Australians benefit from our mineral resources.
