Improving thickener technology

Summary

In this study, thickener technology concepts developed by CSIRO in a preceding project were evaluated at full scale, using two high rate thickeners operating in parallel at the site of one sponsor.

Results were used to predict implications for full scale operation, in particular the flocculation efficiency and hence thickener performance.

he outcomes confirmed the ability to make general predictions, and further work is required. Project coordinated by the Australian Mineral Industries Research Association (AMIRA) Project P266B.
