Petroleum geochemistry of Canning and Bonaparte Basins

Summary

The results of Rock-Eval pyrolysis examination of Devonian sediments from the Canning Basin, and Devonian and Carboniferous from the Bonaparte Basin, are described and discussed.

The percentage Total Organic Carbon in the rock was measured and gas chromatographic and gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric data were obtained for samples shown by Rock-Eval to be most representative of the most mature, organic-rich samples.

Results of M0003 also incorporated into MRIWA Report 20 Petroleum geochemistry of the Canning Basin.
