MRIWA's Board recently approved a research project to be conducted by Curtin University's School of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering - M515 Development of a drilling fluid system for coiled tube drill rigs. The 12-month project, jointly sponsored by DET CRC, Curtin University and MRIWA, is scheduled to conclude in April 2019.
MRIWA's Research Portfolio Manager, Dr Anil Subramanya was invited as a speaker and panel member, meeting the European Commission delegation and Australian agencies on the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies’ Earth Observation Services Industry Mission to Australia. Hosted by the CRC for Spatial Information, the meeting sought to outline the potential for collaboration between EU and Australian entities in the area of Earth Observation. The EU delegation also outlined the opportunities for research funding through the EU’s Horizon 2020 as a potential collaborative effort between EU and Australian entities.
Ms Sabina Shugg has just been announced as the Director of CRC ORE's new Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mining Innovation Hub. Ms Shugg was recently appointed to MRIWA Theme Committee for Productivity and we are very pleased that her expertise is available to the Board in their assessment of Research Grant applications.
